The FIRE movement is WRONG…about some things. We’re grateful for finding financial freedom early on in life, but the journey of getting there wasn’t easy.
There are so many things the FIRE movement says you MUST do (or you can NEVER do) that end up making you more stressed, less fulfilled, and burned out. We’re sharing some of our biggest frustrations with the FIRE movement and the mistakes we made that you should avoid.
Ever been told you’re too cheap? Or maybe the opposite—you’re being irresponsible for treating yourself? There are a lot of opinions in the FIRE community AND from those outside of it once you start on the FIRE path. From job-shaming to obsessing over your FIRE number, cheaping out on your friends and family, and forgoing simple pleasures of life, these are the paths you should avoid on your road to financial independence and early retirement!
