After less than a decade of early retirement and the FIRE lifestyle, Arik Peterson has decided to return to work. He was able to FIRE in his forties, ditching his intense corporate job (and schedule) for relaxing weekdays spent biking, camping, and being with his family. So, why would he decide to go back to work after spending so much time trying to escape it in the first place? Once you’re FIRE, you might realize exactly what Arik did.

Retiring early? Then heed Arik’s advice: know that you’ll still WANT to do something with your time, and what you love doing may come with an income stream to boot! Arik started out doing handyman projects for fun, but after his services got in demand, it became a bit of a side hustle. Now, he’s studying hard to do something that will help everyone become happier, financially healthier, and get to FIRE faster.

Would you go back to work to pursue your passion, even after achieving FIRE? Let us know in the comments!
